PROCURATORE SPORTIVO Il procuratore sportivo (o agente) è la persona che negozia, per conto degli atleti, i contratti con le società sportive. In cambio, ottiene una percentuale dell'ingaggio, che solitamente oscilla tra il 4% e il 10%, ma può variare, con altre percentuali. L'attività di procuratore sportivo offre innanzitutto consulenza allo sportivo professionista nell'attività di ricerca del suo miglior contratto professionale. Successivamente, cura gli interessi dello sportivo che gli ha conferito l'incarico prestandogli assistenza durante lo svolgimento delle trattative per la stipula o la cessione del contratto e, in genere, nel corso dell'attività diretta alla definizione della durata, del compenso e di ogni altra pattuizione. Il procuratore assiste poi l'atleta per l'intera durata dell'incarico, curando le trattative per gli eventuali rinnovi del contratto. La procura è un mandato senza rappresentanza, cioè il procuratore non può firmare a nome e per conto dello sportivo; tuttavia rappresenta l'atleta in tutto e per tutto, preoccupandosi di curarne il trasferimento ma anche preoccupandosi della sua posizione fiscale, pubblicitaria, assicurativa, di investimento e quant'altro. Un procuratore deve sapere individuare il giovane di talento, andare a cercarlo e proporsi, decantando la sua professionalità per convincerlo a rilasciargli il mandato. L'abilitazione all'esercizio dell'attività di procuratore sportivo si ottiene con il superamento di una prova di esame. Il candidato deve presentare la domanda alla federazione sportiva di riferimento, che potrà anche prevedere periodicamente degli appositi bandi. Non esiste un percorso formativo codificato per svolgere questa professione; è consigliabile, però, possedere una laurea. Recentemente sono stati attivati dei corsi che uniscono competenze trasversali al mondo del diritto, dell'economia e delle scienze motorie.
